Our Mission

At Advocates for Senior Living, our mission is to walk alongside seniors and their families with compassion, honesty, and heart—guiding them through the transition into senior living as seamlessly and confidently as possible.

We are committed to educating seniors and their families so they understand what to expect at every stage of the process. We believe transparency is essential, especially when it comes to costs, and we ensure seniors have a clear understanding of financial obligations before any decisions are made.

Senior living communities have sales representatives whose role is to represent the community. Seniors and their families deserve the same level of representation—someone solely focused on their best interests. Choosing senior living is a major financial and life decision, often comparable to purchasing a home. You wouldn’t sign a home contract without an advocate, and you shouldn’t sign a senior living contract without one either.

We understand that exploring senior living options can feel unfamiliar and overwhelming. You don’t have to navigate it alone. We are here to be your trusted advocates—every step of the way.

Working with Families

At Advocates for Senior Living, we believe finding the right senior living community for your loved one should feel empowering—not overwhelming. We understand the fear, guilt, and uncertainty families often experience when considering senior living, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

With a deep understanding of both the emotional and practical challenges families face, we provide compassionate, personalized guidance as your loved one plans for and transitions into senior living. Our role is to walk alongside you—listening, educating, and advocating—so you can make decisions with clarity and confidence.

We also offer peer-led caregiver support groups, because caregivers should never feel alone. Caregiving can be isolating, and connecting with others who are navigating similar challenges creates a sense of understanding, relief, and community.

Be sure to ask us about our Senior Living Readiness Assessment, designed to help you determine whether now is the right time for senior living—or if safe, local services and supports may allow your loved one to remain at home longer.

Types of Senior Living

We proudly assist families in navigating Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care communities—helping you find the option that best aligns with your care needs, social needs, and budget.

We are not “placement specialists.” We are advocates. Our role is to empower YOU with clear information, honest guidance, and personalized support so you can make decisions that are truly in your best interest.

We also offer educational classes and planning support to help seniors and families prepare well before a move is needed. These classes focus on organizing belongings, downsizing with intention, and reducing the emotional and logistical stress that often comes with a last-minute transition.

Planning in advance (before a medical crisis hits) allows families to explore options thoughtfully, make informed decisions, and avoid being forced into choices during a health crisis or emergency. When planning happens ahead of time, seniors are able to remain involved in decisions, transitions are smoother, and families experience less stress, guilt, and urgency.

You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. We’re here to help you plan ahead, stay informed, and move forward with confidence—on your timeline, not in a moment of crisis.

 Questions we can answer…

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but some signs include increased difficulty with performing daily tasks, preparing healthy meals, isolation, safety concerns at home, or a need for more structured support. If you’re starting to wonder, we’re here to give you tips on what signs to look for that indicate you (or your loved one) are ready for senior living.

  • Independent Living?

Independent Living is a wonderful choice for active seniors who are ready to enjoy more freedom, connection, and ease in their daily lives. The vibrant communities we recommend offer comfortable, maintenance-free apartment living, delicious shared meals, engaging social activities, and a genuine sense of belonging—all surrounded by the natural beauty and welcoming spirit of Northwest Washington.

    Assisted Living?

Assisted Living provides just the right balance of independence and support, personalized to meet each individual’s needs. Whether it’s help with daily routines, medication reminders, or simply having someone nearby for peace of mind, residents receive compassionate, respectful care in a warm and uplifting environment. It’s a place where seniors thrive—staying active, engaged, and well cared for every step of the way.

    Memory Care?

Memory Care communities are thoughtfully designed for individuals living with dementia or cognitive decline. With highly trained staff, secure environments, and enriching programs that preserve dignity and spark joy, these communities provide a safe, loving space for residents and peace of mind for families. We work only with communities known for their exceptional care and heartfelt commitment to treating every resident with patience, respect, and compassion—so your loved one feels loved, and you feel confident in their care.

  • Costs vary depending on the type of care, location, and amenities offered. We help you explore options that fit your needs and your budget—always keeping your best interest at heart.

Independent Living is where most people enter senior living, and for an all-inclusive community it can start in low $3000’s per month. (Depending on the size of the apartment, location and amenities.)

Senior Living communities change their pricing occasionally. So we will verify pricing when you are ready to move-in.

  • Yes. We have different tiers of service to meet varying needs. We are happy to provide a free “needs assessment” to help you determine what the next steps should be so you can enjoy an improved quality of life.

  • We give you the tools to help you choose which communities are the best match for you. We provide a list of communities that may meet your needs and we can discuss the benefits of each community. We typically make a suggestion of 3 communities that we think will match your specific needs.

We do not oversee the care that is given in those communities. So we do suggest having a care advisor continue to meet with you (or your loved one) so we can advocate for the care that you receive. This allows us to continue to advocate for you.

  • Yes. We can support you with fast, thoughtful guidance when a quick decision is needed—whether due to a pending hospital discharge, a change in care needs, or a sudden event.

In most cases a week’s notice or more is ideal, but under emergency circumstances, some communities are able to work with our advocates to ensure a quick move-in.

  • Thanks to the internet, we are able to serve seniors in a variety of locations across the United States.

  • Yes. While our main focus is helping families find the right senior living, we’re happy to connect you with trusted resources, including Veterans' Aid and Attendance services, lending services and legal support.

  • Simply reach out! We’ll set up a free consultation to learn more about your needs and walk you through next steps—at your pace, on your terms.

Even if you aren’t ready to move now, we can talk about how to prepare for the future.
